Davy Jones' Chest

Davy Jones' Chest is also known as the "Dead Man's Chest" and is the primary coveted item by several characters throughout the entire movie. The chest itself is of no significant value, but the item inside the chest would grant several characters what they want most:
Ex-Commodore James Norrington: Redemption of his prior status and freedom from the gallows.
Captain Jack Sparrow: Freedom from his debt of 100 years of servitude due to Davy Jones' himself.
Will Turner: A way to bargain for the freedom of his father, Boostrap Bill Turner who owes Davy Jones' an eternity of servitude.
Lord Cutler Beckett: The very item that will give him (and the British East India Company) control over the sea.
Davy Jones: Because the item in the chest is his heart and whoever has it would have him and the sea under their own control. And because the reason he hid his heart in his chest was to avoid the heartbreak of love (rumored to be Tia Dalma).
